Geeks R Us

Many people know that I have married a geek. You know, the kind who is into fantasy, games (and always wins), he and his friends all play D&D and all own swords. You know, some special sword made to be a replica of a sword written about in one of those fantasy books.

But I love it. I love that he thinks it is important to be able to beat the expert level of Risk on the Ipad. I love that he can DM the most incredible, creative D&D sessions. (omg did i say that?) I love that we can spend whole days sitting around and reading together.

Which brings me to my point... I may be entitled to the geek title by my own rights. (Do I dare confess it? I guess I just did.) Besides geeking out over the typical girly stuff me and my friends obsess over, like fashion blogs, cute pictures of animals, shoes, artists... I have become enthralled by the most epic fantasy series ever: A Song of Ice and Fire. (Better known to some as Game of Thrones, the first book in the series that was made into an HBO series last season).

This is nothing new to my friends since they have been seeing me carry around these near 1,000 page books every where off and on for almost 2 years. But I had to document my reading for those of you who may not have heard of it. OR heard of it and not thought that it was worth reading. It is.

And because my geek husband is also an English major, I will let him explain in my next post why this series is second to only The Lord of the Rings.
